I spent few hours of time to build an interior 3d model of a flat.
The next step I will proceed is to render the model in other photo realistic rendering software like vray.
Any other additional work should be made on the model before used by rendering software ?
Without seeing your model, it is tough to say for sure. However, you can render something as simple as a box out of SketchUp, so its really up to you how detailed you get in SketchUp before you decide to render.
One thing to think about: Some rendering programs handle SketchUp textures better than others. So depending on which software or plugin you use, you might decide to wait to texture until you are in the rendering application.
it depends on what software you plan to use for your rendering. and it depends on which file format you will be exporting from SKP.
if you are 100% averse to having to re-do any of the texturing work, then the safest bet would be to wait until you are in the rendering application before applying textures. However, the texture tools in SketchUp are pretty quick at getting the job done. So, even if a few of them get messed up during export and need to be re-done, you may still end up saving time in the long run.

I've gotten pretty familiar with sketchup and I'm trying to learn how to use vray. I haven't found many good resources about vray for sketchup, and I was hoping to get a crash course/more info on how to apply materials and bump/displacements to the surfaces of my models. (not looking for vray settings, but the steps taken to take a SU model and prepare it for a vray render).
Thanks.
