Sketchup lets you turn on and off section cuts in several ways, but layout is annoyingly picky on the subject of section cuts. My best and guaranteed solution is to use the styles palette to create a style without section cuts. To do this go to the Styles Window (Window/Styles) and select the Edit tab. If you click on the solid blue cube- the last one in the line of 5- you can turn on and off section cuts and section planes in the checkboxes at the bottom. Rename the style in the top of the window, I use something like "default style no sections" and click the update button (the circular arrows). You can now apply this style to any scenes where you do not want sections to appear and the "no section" style will carry over to layout. And since you have access to your sketchup styles in layout you can apply it from within layout if you find wayward section cuts you want to get rid of in other scenes. I saved this style to a style library so that I can use it whenever those pesky sections sneak into a layout window.
