So yeah, that Google Earth plugin is pretty sweet. But the black and white satellite imagery that you end up with is so 1950. This episode is a continuation of the IES Series (Episodes #51 & #52) in which Mike goes off on one of his tangents to show a new trick for getting the color version of satellite photography from Google Earth into SketchUp. If anyone from the DHS asks how you figured out how to do this - it wasn't from us...

I have version 7 of Sketchup and am using a Mac. I see the area in the object info palate but not the dimensions. It seems to come in correctly though.

I eventually figured it out using the object infgo palate. Clicking on the texture activates it. This is also where you remove the texture and then load the color one that is draped on the landscape. Using the bucket tool didn't work.
