Hey there guys!

I'm new to sketchup been working on it for about a week now and I am having some troubles with walls. I have both of the Dvd's that go 2 school offers. I've only watched the first one and a bit of the second Dvd. So my problem is that I am making a trailer sketchup for my dads business so he can show his customers what their trailer will look like before it is built. I have cabinets in the trailer and D-rings and so on. But the wall cabinet outline is coming through the walls as an outline. Would the best thing to do is to hide the lines that are popping through? I've even tried to add the thickness of the wall of the trailer to 1/4 inch and I can still see some lines. Would you like me to show you a picture of what im talking about? I'm sorry if this is a noob question just trying to figure it out :(. Thanks for your time.

Not a noob question, in fact, it sounds like your hauling through this whole SKP thing (pun intended). some pictures would be great, if nothing else than for curiosity sake.

my guess is that the best option for you is going to be to hide the edges that are messing things up for you.

That whole 'Showing through walls' is a weird thing that happens with edges in SKP. i don't know about the actual 1s and 0s of it all, but I think it's cause the edges have a display thickness that's defined but pixel width, and the surfaces (or even double thickness 'walls') are defined by actual real world dimensions. It seems as though usually, if you zoom out to where the walls are small enough on the screen, that the pixel with of the edges will start to show through the walls. So in effect, your options would be to make the walls thicker, or hide the edges. (hiding the edges is probably an easier, and more effective option.)

fir hiding, remember that you have a few options. you could either right click the edge and choose 'hide' from the context menu, or you could select all the edges you want to hide and then go to Edit > Hide, or you could use the eraser tool with the shift key held down.
