I'm doing a model (not my choice) of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park in Chicago for a sketchup class I'm in. I haven't even started the building yet, which is going to be hard enough, but what I'm having trouble with at the moment is the crazy web shaped terris it has over the lawn. I keep trying different things and get close sometimes, but all to no avail. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about making this thing.

not only do the beams arc, but the whole things does a downward arc as well, and ever beam passes through each other, which is the really hard part. I'm desperate now, and need help quickly as this is approaching due.
If anyone has any tips for the building as well, I'd love to heard those too. Thanks.

wow, that's really not a very cool assignment. whoever gave you that project must not like you.
have you tried calling Gehry's office to ask for a 3D file of the pavilion. Tell them it's for a school project and you'd like a file format that can be imported into SketchUp. I'm serious.
If that doesn't work, send me an email with your phone number and i'll walk you through some stuff. even better if you have an iChat screen name.

mtadros, thank you for the original offer of help, and I appologize for not responding far sooner. At the time of the post I was in kind of a bunch and was just looking for general solutions and didn't quite have the time to follow through with some of your suggestions. I did however manage to pull off the pritzker pavilion, for the most part after several trial and errors. It's not perfect, but it passes and I thought you might like to see it as you seemed interested, and maybe you'll have some tips one how to make it better, now that I'm not in crunch time. I'm not sure how to put pictures on here if it's possible at all, so if you know a way let me know, otherwise I can upload it and post a link or something. Thanks again.

try uploading the model to the 3D Warehouse and then post a link to the model so we can check it out.
