Creating layers from entity info

I've watched podcast #14 several times and during that podcast you show how to create a layer by typing a name in the Entity Information layer box and it automatically creates a layer with the same name. Is this a feature on a prior version of sketchup that is no longer available on 6? I've seached for any information on this and I'm stumped.

Hi Ray,
the feature that you're describing is specific to the MAC OS. I assume you're trying that trick on a PC? if so, the PC requires that you create a new layer first, then assign geometry to that layer.
