Hi everyone, I am a long time user of SketchUp and I've been running the SketchUp wiki at www.suwiki.org. I was also a moderator for the SketchUp forums before they moved to the Google Groups.
I used to live in Southern California and I attended the user group down there, but I recently moved up here to go to UC Berkeley to get my masters. I'd be interested in trying to get a user group get together going up here. If anyone is interested, just respond to this post.

Re: Bay Area, California (Berkeley?)
Hi,
Im from Northern California myself. I am just starting to learn this program and it is great. So, great i showed my boss an example of it and now he wants me to show a portion of Maui, 3D on a topographical map with 12,000 solar panels on it to show shading issues we could possibly have....Ummm, huh?
OK...so that is the task he has set forth infront of me...HELP!! I am trying to figure out how take a topo map out of CAD into Sketch Up, show the grade or slope of the terrain at 5% and show a cross section of area....

Hey Chris and Zack,
I'd also be interested in a Bay Area Users Group. I'm located near Walnut Creek.
Re: Bay Area, California (Berkeley?)
Hi Chris,
I'm an interior designer in Marin. I know the basics of SketchUp, but want to model curved furniture with curved backs, legs, details. I've been struggling with a variety of methods, but there are always road blocks. Any suggestions as to how to learn this? I'm willing to purchase a DVD, take a class or private lessons.
thanks!
