Visualizing spreadsheet data

In the episode regarding visualizing spreadsheet data, you highlighted a plugin called cloud_V6 (metric) that was created by Didier Bur. I have tried to use that plugin but cannot get it to work. I noticed that you were using a Mac, and I am using an Intel Mac. Hopefully that should answer the Mac/PC arguments. When I open the example file that Didier supplies with the plugin, I get the proper number of points showing, and then get to the window that asks you to set the orgin. I click on the origin point, then It just hangs with a list of errors in the Ruby dialog window. I have looked at other forums, and even sent an email to one of the users who is having a similar problem, but have received no replies. Did you enounter any issues similar to mine. I am running version 10.5.6 with all updates installed. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

google earth - rectangle tool

I imported a site from google earth into SketchUp. I made sure that the terrain was from a birds-eye view, and that the terrain was North. When I use the rectangle tool over the imported image in SketchUp, the rectangle tool is goofy-foot. In other words, it works completely backwards to how it normally does in SketchUp. What am I doing wrong?

Layout

Nearly everything I've read about Layout mentions its presentation (paper and digital)capabilities and the possiblities of using animations within the presentations. However playing around with it I can't find any other options other than saving it as a PDF? I currently export my project images directly from sketchup and import them straight into Powerpoint, then send my clients the powerpoint presentation. However having played around with Layout I would prefer to try and use it over powerpoint (I would have more control over the over all graphic look) but I cannot figure out how to animate the finished pages/create a presentation once I'm happy with them. Is this actually possible?

photo match and scale

I created a photomatch file of a fireplace wall and scaled it. Separately, I drew a mantel shelf and frieze to scale. However, when I tried to import the mantle shelf component to the fireplace wall file it was about half the size. Both are scaled correctly, but when combined are not lining up. What's up with that, can't that be done?

Terrain model with CAD data?

Hello guys, I leave in Germany and I need help please. I want to make a terrain model in Sketch up, which has a lot of mountains and also a river. Is it possible to make a real model using only countour lines and the river lines which I have available as CAD file? Or which data do I need? I have read that some people use GIS data. I already see two tutorials from the sandbox using an image, but I would like to know how possible is to do it using GIS data. I hope you can help me, thank you in advance. Tania

Hi there ! I'm a newly with sketchup, and lately I been doing some practice, and there is a problem that I keep running into while practicing. That's modelling a model that has got curve edge on a slope or curve edge with an arc form to it. I have an example of the model I been working on in my album. http://www.pixnet.net/photo/tyrone24m/94995628 http://www.pixnet.net/photo/tyrone24m/94995630 http://www.pixnet.net/photo/tyrone24m/94995635 any method in getting that edge to look like that in the photo, with the arc form shape and it has a nice round curve edge to it.
building a pond

While searching the internet for a landscaping modeling program (To get my wifes approval for a project) I found scetchup, which in turn lead me here. I wish to tackle a large project in my back yard of a pond and waterfall. I have spent alot of time watching the many "how to videos" and attempting to get started but feel I am getting no where fast. As a ups driver my pc skills are limited as well as my time to invest in learning how to use scketchup for this sole project. Is sketchup for me?

Hi guys, I was wondering how to create the shape of a chicklet that has rounded sides and corners. The measurements are 1.78" x 1.78" x 0.22". I can get the corners to arc, but then the sides wont arc and vice versa. Thanks, wilkes.

Chpt 20 CAD files

I just started watching the Dune Ridge House episodes and I decided to try the tutorial. Well, when I downloaded the files the Elevation CAD file was missing. This makes following along with Chpt 20 hard to do. If anyone has the missing file could you send it to me. My email address is orangepinto93@yahoo.com.

Hey I'm using sketchup on a macbook -- the program runs fine for about 5 minutes and then starts lagging like crazy. If I quit and reopen it, it's again fine for 5 minutes and then i get that stupid rainbow circle after every move is there something i can do to make sketchup run smoother?
