I’m trying to create a perforated metal shading system in sketchup however i cant quite get it to look the way i want. i have taken several images of perforated metal and created a tillable texture with it. in photo shop i have even deleted the space i want to be completely transparent (the holes) and got the block pattern behind them but when i save it and import it into sketchup the holes are white. how can i get those holes to be clear so i can partially see my structure behind it?

if you're working on a PC, SketchUp will read transparency for .png image files.

i'm guessing that you may be saving as a different file format (i.e. jpeg, tif, etc.). try .png and let me know if that works.
