Saw the great woodworking podcast where the doors rotate symmetrically to show the cabinet interior, got it all xcept the rotating bit. My doors appear to be glued at the top to the carcase of the cabinet. Please   guess where the problem might be. Regards   Gus

If your doors are stuck to the body of the cabinet it is probably because you did not make them into components.

For the doors to swing away from the body of the cabinet the geometry needs to be isolated from the rest of the model. If you do not make the components (or group them) when you place them on the cabinet they will stick to the cabinet geometry and stay stuck, perhaps for all eternity.

So, make one door and make it component.

Copy the component and use the Right Click/Flip along command to make it the mirror image of the original.

To do the open/close trick Right Click/Edit one of the component doors, select all the geometry by triple clicking, and then use the Rotate Tool to open and close them- Click on the hinge point with the Rotate Tool, make sure the tool is oriented perpendicular to the hinge line, click on a point in line with your hinge point to start the rotation, move the cursor to swing the doors, click a 3rd time to end the rotation.

If you successfully  mirrored the door components they will open and close opposite each other.

good luck
