i tried to render some models with kerkythea, but i got the failure notice, that i need to add some lights to the model before rendering."results may occure totally black"..something like that

so is there a possibilty to put lights on the model in sketchup (a friend told me that) or is this what you do only with the rendering program? i know there are some lamps e.g in the components library but do they effect some light?

thx again ha

Its actually not so much adding lights in sketchup as in your renderer [in this case kerkythea]. I only played with Kerkythea once, and i was a while ago, so i don't quite remember where they are. I do remember that i twas pretty straight forward though, so you should be able to find it rather quickly.

ok. i compared now my sketchup version (6.0.277 for mac) with a friends, teh same just for windows.

there exists a components folder called "lights", where you can add lamps and bulbs to the model to have lighted spots in the later exported model.

where is this folder in the mac version? i even can t find it on teh google site!?

some plugins, like SU Podium and IDX Renditioner will install components and component folders with pre-modeled and pre-configured lighting components.

perhaps your friend has one of those rendering plugins installed?
